Day 1: Friday 19th July

9.00am – 9.45am Registration: Collect Lanyards, goody bags, tshirt etc… There will be sweet snacks and coffee/tea available from 9-10am NA
10am What is Fairtrade? The basics This session will be going through the basics of Fairtrade, and give you some handy stats and stories to tell about the impact of Fairtrade on farmers and their families. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions TBC
11am Why Fairtrade? Let’s talk about the people behind our products Session on human trafficking and slavery in supply chains, and how Fairtrade combats this. Also a short video clip about child labour in the industry and ethical consumerism. TBC
12noon Why Fairtrade? Part 2: A story from a Fairtrade producer – connecting our purchases to the people who make them A story of a Fairtrade producer who has benefited from Fairtrade, and possibly a speaker from a Fairtrade organisation who has seen the impact of Fairtrade – interactive session with QandA TBC
1pm LUNCH BREAK Local and organic Vegan and Vegetarian curry with rice
1.45pm How Fairtrade? Investigating ethical procurement and Sustainability in universities Session on how to be ethical as a university in the area of procurement but also embedding into teaching and learning TBC
2.30pm How Fairtrade? Part 2: Having a business mindset and act ethically Session on how to be ethical as a business whilst still being sustainable. Link to how to talk to retailers on campus about Fairtrade from a business mindset TBC
3.30pm Fairtrade coffee tastings with local baristas This session will involve 3-4 local baristas coming along and teaching delegates about different types of coffee, why they choose ethical/Fairtrade and there will even be a challenge to make the Fairtrade logo in latte art! Delegates will then get to order coffee from Baristas and have an opportunity to listen to local Tasmanian baristas about why they choose Fairtrade. TBC
4.30pm Why Unis? Panel Why is Fairtrade relevant to unis? Why should unis become Fairtrade accredited? Find out all the answers and more from an expert panel of speakers TBC
5.15pm Sustainability Festival An array of Fairtrade/ethical/organic/local stalls and producers who have come along to showcase and sell their goods. There will be food available for purchase. This event is open to all UTAS students as well as conference delegates
8pm HOMETIME! Delegates head back to accommodation/Free time

Day 2: Saturday 20th July

8.30am-11am Scavenger Hunt at Salamanca Market Delegates will be given a number of Fairtrade challenges to complete, and will have to use social media to complete some of these. There will be a Fairtrade prize for the winning team! There will also be a chance to get discount food vouchers and look around the markets too. NA
12noon Scav Hunt debrief What was it like talking to retailers about Fairtrade? What response did you get when you asked people about Fairtrade? A chance to reflect on the scav hunt and take away key learnings to use in Fairtrade uni movements across the country. Facilitated by 2013 Fairly Educated Committee
12.30 Steps to Fairtrade accreditation: Facts and Myths A detailed session on what exactly your uni needs to do in order to achieve Fairtrade accreditation, how long it will take and some barriers you may face. Fairtrade Association (TBC)
1pm LUNCH BREAK Local and organic Vegan and Vegetarian soup with fresh roll Delegates to talk amongst themselves about where their uni is up to in the accreditation process
1.45pm Movement Building and Activism: theory and practise Session on how to build a Fairtrade movement in your uni, as well as some helpful theory and tips about how to empower successful activists as part of your team (interactive – different types of leadership styles etc) TBC
2.30pm Workshop break outs: Building up your skills to lead a Fairtrade Movement Break out session on social media, engagement and event planning TBC
5.30pm Brainstorm actions for your uni’s Fairtrade movement After brainstorm, move to venue for Trivia Night All delegates, facilitated by 2013 FE committee

6.30pm Fairtrade Trivia Night Test your knowledge on Fairtrade at our Fairtrade trivia night! Great prizes to be won plus some delicious local Tasmanian food to try TBC
10.30pm HOMETIME! Delegates head back to accommodation/Free time

Day 3: Sunday 21st July

11am Success of Fairtrade unis Panel with students and staff from accredited and not yet accredited Fairtrade unis across Australia. Opportunity to share their story and then QandA from delegates. TBC
12noon Success of Fairtrade in the field Hear from a Fairtrade social entrepreneur about her Fairtrade enterprise and how it creates change for women in Nepal. Also, hear about your opportunity to win a trip to Nepal to visit her project! Steph Woollard, Seven Women
1pm LUNCH Ethical gourmet Tasmanian Sandwiches
END OF CONFERENCE
6pm Fairtrade Movie Night For delegates who are staying a Tas a few more days, come along to a Fairtrade movie night with Fairtrade coffee and chocolate to chillax with all your new conference friends!
